Do it yourself liquid bed liners are real problem solvers. These liners are good looking, long lasting, and easy on cargo. But is a liquid bed liner really right for you and your truck? And if it is, why should you do it yourself?
There are many different choices of bed liners out there for your truck. There are drop-in plastic, rubber, carpet liners, and many more. So, is a spray on or paint on lining the right choice?
This really is a big question, because once you’ve painted the liner on it’s not coming off easily. That’s one of the biggest drawbacks to the paint-on option. But, what are the things that make this choice such a good one? Liquid bedliners are an inexpensive option compared to many of today’s other choices. When installed correctly, the roll on bed liner adds a clean, professional look to many trucks bedliner. These coatings are also easily maintained to provide years of great service, even with hard use.
So it really is just a question of your needs and preference. You may rather have a liner that has designer looks. You may need a heavy duty rubber liner for maximum protection. You may just like a coating that you can take out when you want to. But if you just want a good coating for all-around use, the do it yourself bed liner does have some things going for it. Now… should you install your lining yourself, or let a pro do it?
I know from personal experience that do it yourself liquid bed liners go on great with the simplest tools. You may think that a pro spray-on bedliner would look better, but my experience is that the truck bed paint smoothes out very well using low cost, disposable paint brushes. If you get a pro to install your liner, it will cost you. If you do it yourself, you will save money. After you install the lining, you will know how to do it. And you will be able to say that you put that good looking bed liner on all by yourself!
